There is a mismatch between the type of houses built under the 1Malaysia People’s Housing Scheme (PR1MA) and the demand for them.
“In some cases, we were offering too few single storey houses,” PR1MA group chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias said at a media briefing today, in response to a query on the oversupply of the affordable houses in certain locations.
This is despite the demand of 1.5 million respondents having been recorded via the agency's website when the affordable housing programme was first launched, he noted.
